We review our recent experience with the treatment of traumatic strictures of the posterior urethra in children. Five males, ages six to seventeen years with dense posterior urethral strictures, have required open reconstructive procedures. Four patients had injury secondary to pelvic fractures, and 1 patient had an iatrogenic injury from surgery for imperforate anus. INTRODUCTION: Intractable full-thickness rectal prolapse (IRP) unresponsive to conservative treatment remains a major problem after anorectoplasty for high or intermediate anorectal malformation (ARM).
