PURPOSE: To determine the accuracy of split-bolus CT urogram (SB-CTU) without special maneuvers for ureteral distention in diagnosing upper urinary tract urothelial carcinoma (UCA).
MATERIALS AND METHODS: A hospital database was searched from 1/1/10, to 9/1/15, for SB-CTU exams without special maneuvers for ureteral distention. Accuracy of SB-CTU for detecting upper and lower urinary tract UCA was computed by comparing the prospective radiology report with cystoscopy, ureteroscopy, and/or urologic clinical follow-up. OBJECTIVE: We sought to determine age-adjusted rates (AARs) of lower urinary tract injury and incidence in selected inpatient gynecologic and obstetric procedures.
STUDY DESIGN: We utilized the National Hospital Discharge Survey, 1979-2006. AARs of nonobstetric bladder and ureteral injuries and incidence of lower urinary tract injury for various hysterectomy types and deliveries were calculated for women>18 years old.
RESULTS: Overall AARs of ureteral injury decreased from 0.06-0.03 per 1000 women (1979-2006). AARs of inpatient gynecologic procedures decreased from 24.9-11.8 per 1000 women (

Spontaneous perforation of the urinary bladder is a rare clinical condition presenting as an acute abdomen. It should be suspected in patients with a past history of radiotherapy to the pelvis, enterocystoplasty and those suspected of having a tumour in the bladder. Disproportionately elevated serum urea and creatinine should raise the index of suspicion. A case of spontaneous perforation of the bladder, five years following successful treatment of a bladder tumour by radiotherapy, is reported.

Two cases of invasive lower ureteric cancer developed following frequent recurrence of superficial bladder tumors in the region of the ureteral orifice. The cancer focus could not be identified in the intramural ureter prior to intravenous urography which revealed hydronephrosis. When bladder tumors repeatedly develop near the ureteric orifice, careful investigations such as ureteral catheterization with a small brush for cytology or ureteroscopy are necessary for the early detection of invasive disease.

OBJECTIVES: To determine the long-term safety and efficacy of the Titan endoprosthesis as a therapeutic alternative in the management of men with bladder outlet obstruction.
