AIMS: To evaluate the occurrence and diagnostic value of MYB-QKI rearrangement status in angiocentric glioma (AG) in Chinese patients.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: 27 cases were collected from six hospitals, followed by a retrospective analysis of clinical, radiological, and morphological data. MYB protein expression was assessed by immunohistochemical staining (IHC), and the MYB-QKI rearrangement was detected by fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH).

OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to identify the distribution of parotid tumours within the gland in relation to the facial nerve branches. Documentation revealing such a relationship has not been reported previously.
METHOD: A prospective study involving 111 patients was carried out over a period of 18 years in a specialist otolaryngology unit within a district general hospital. The relationship of the facial nerve to the tumour was graded into six types. The grading system was then employed to categorize each case.

Gustatory rhinorrhea consists of free discharge of thin mucus from the nose during ingestion or after other gustatory stimulus. At maxillectomy, the nerve fibers going both to the salivary glands of the palate and to the secretory glands of the nasal mucosa may be damaged. A misdirection between the regenerating fibers of these two groups produces gustatory rhinorrhea.

A case is presented in which a child with underlying chronic lung disease, developed cor pulmonale and severe pulmonary hypertension as a result of adenotonsillar hypertrophy. His cardiac function acutely decompensated with an upper respiratory infection which exacerbated his obstructive sleep symptoms. A female patient was found to have a chemodectoma, a GH-producing pituitary tumour and a bronchial carcinoid combined with hyperplasia of the parathyroids and of antral and duodenal gastrin cells. This combination of endocrine tumours and hyperplasias does not fit with the two multiple endocrine adenomatosis syndromes recognized at present. Sinonasal cancers (nasal fossae and sinus) account for 3 to 5% of all cancers of the head and neck. They include carcinomas, mucosal melanomas, sarcomas and lymphomas.
