The quantity of purified virus required for these studies necessitate that purification methods must shift from classical density gradient ultracentrifugation to scaleable approaches. Cross immunofluorescence revealed that coxsackievirus A 16 (CA 16) shared a common antigen with enterovirus 71 (E 71). A method for washing platelets by albumin density gradient separation has been modified to prepare platelet rich plasma of thrombocytopenic patients for platelet aggregation studies. PURPOSE: To probe a selective method of isolate and culture of human pterygia cells in vitro.
METHODS: Fifty primary pterygia were got by operation and cut to clips less than 1 x 1 mm2, segments were digested by collagenase II for 20 minutes and by trypsin for 10 minutes under 37 degrees C, and then centrifugated for 15 minutes by 1500 rpm. The collected cells were cultured in conditioned medium for endothelial cells. Several studies have associated telomere shortening with alterations in reproductive function. The objective of the present study was to determine telomere length (TL) in spermatozoa selected by either density-gradient centrifugation (DGC) or swim-up. A rodent adapted clone of Trypanosoma vivax was used to infect cyclophosphamide treated mice and rats.
