Feline cutaneous paraneoplastic syndrome is a rare disorder associated mainly with pancreatic carcinoma and thymoma. In this report the authors describe the case of a 12-year-old cat with paraneoplastic exfoliative dermatitis associated with thymoma. Lateral radiographic examination of the chest showed a small subtle soft tissue density in the ventral part of the first and second intercostal space, which together with skin changes suggested thymoma. Using equal or lower than manufacturer's recommended doses of Captopril in 10 hypertensive patients with creatinine clearance less than 30 ml/min severe side-effects were observed in four cases. The adverse reactions continued after stopping the drug. One case developed symptomatic thrombocytopenia; one other, a lethal infected exfoliative dermatitis and an irreversible deterioration of her renal function. The other two cases demonstrated severe aggravation of their CRF, one requiring dialysis. The protective effect of dialysis against these side-effects is obvious in this series and dialysis

A 71-year-old man had status epilepticus and was treated with phenytoin (Dilantin) sodium. Subsequently, an absolute eosinophilia developed, which increased and reached its zenith immediately before the patient died. Five patients developed fever, "toxaemia", severe skin reactions and eosinophilia, three to six weeks after commencing allopurinol therapy. The presenting feature in these patients was an extensive erythema, progressing to an exfoliative dermatitis, sometimes with oral mucous membrane involvement. A 12 y old girl was admitted 24 days after start a WHO multidrug therapy scheme for multibacillary leprosy (dapsone, clofazimine and rifampicin) with intense jaundice, generalized lymphadenopathy, hepatoesplenomegaly, oral erosions, conjunctivitis, morbiliform rash and edema of face, ankles and hands.
