RATIONALE: Tracheobronchial benign tumors are uncommon; particularly, bronchial pleomorphic adenoma is one of the rarest benign tumors that develop in bronchus (only 7 reported cases, among which only 4 cases of pleomorphic adenoma were seen arising from right main bronchus).
PATIENT CONCERNS: In this report, a 38-year-old woman suffered from progressive shortness of breath for 5 years due to right main bronchial pleomorphic adenoma.

Lower urinary tract symptoms in men are associated usually with the presence of bladder outlet obstruction, especially with benign prostatic hyperplasia. We present a case of a patient whose cause of urinary frequency, difficulty in starting micturition and feeling of incomplete emptying of the bladder was ureterocele, causing symptoms of bladder outlet obstruction. Treatment consisted of endoscopic electroresection of the cyst. Following treatment the complete resolution of symptoms reported before treatment was achieved.

Hysteroscopy is the current gold standard for evaluating intrauterine pathology, including submucous fibroids, polyps, hyperplasia and cancer. However, there are still problems and complications connected to hysteroscopy. Fluid overload of 1-2l occurs in approximately 5.2% and >2l in 1% of cases. The pulsed electron avalanche knife (PEAK-fc, Carl Zeiss Meditec) is an electrosurgical cutting device that allows precise "cold" and traction-free tissue dissection. We describe its applicability and safety for anterior capsulotomy in a child with congenital cataract and an adult patient with mature cataract. Rhinophyma is an uncommon condition that often results in both functional and cosmetic impairment. A 65-year old male with a huge rhinophyma, that had extremely grown in the last three years, is presented. The huge tumor was removed under local anaesthesia with electrosurgical knife preserving the alar cartilage. Both, the immediate and late result were satisfactory. The relevant literature is discussed.

Over the past three years, loop excision has become a standard form of therapy for cervical intraepithelial neoplasia. Clinical trials have found loop excision to be faster and easier than laser ablation for treating cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and to have similar complication and success rates. During transurethral electroresection in the posterolateral bladder neck, trigone and posterior urethra, unintentional contractions of the thigh-adductor muscles may occur due to irritation of the obturator nerve. The sudden displacement of the bladder wall against the cutting loop may cause a perforation of the bladder. The authors describe the topographic relation of the bladder wall to the passage of the obturator nerve in the minor pelvis. The technique of obturator nerve block by local anaesthesia is described and its efficacy is demonstrated in 21 patients.

Three children, 30 to 36 months of age, had solitary juvenile polyps in the sigmoid colon and rectal bleeding of varying severity, In all three patients, the polyps were removed without the use of general anesthesia through a standard 100-cm colonoscope used to examine adult patients. No untoward effects were encountered. Colonoscopic polypectomy is an effective therapeutic procedure and obviates the need for either anxious waiting in the mildly symptomatic patient or colotomy and polypectomy in the child with profuse rectal bleeding.
