A 32-year-old woman diagnosed as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) became pregnant. During pregnancy she was treated with a daily dosage of prednisolone 15 mg. In a prospective, randomized, open trial, efficacy of one dose of sulbactam/ampicillin (1 g:2 g) was compared to three doses of mezlocillin/oxacillin (2 g:1 g), starting with induction of anesthesia in 80 breast surgery patients with an increased risk of postoperative infection. In this study, we investigated the characteristics of E18 infections in hospitalized adults with meningoencephalitis that occurred during an unusual epidemic in south-western Hungary in mid-2023. In this study, we report the occurrence of multisystemic inflammatory syndrome among 64 children (2 deaths) with recent severe acute respiratory syndrome-related coronavirus 2 (SARS-COV-2) infections in the northeast region of Brazil.
