We report a 48-year-old woman presenting with gastric adenocarcinoma metastatic only to the left fallopian tube. In addition to invasive, poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma, there were areas simulating intraepithelial carcinoma, suggesting a primary fallopian tube lesion. Aminograms of tubal and follicular fluids were obtained using fluids collected by aspiratory puncture from six cats. The amino acids were separated and quantified by high-performance liquid chromatography analysis. The serum of the cats was used as control. Isolated Fallopian tube torsion is a rare gynecological cause of acute lower abdominal pain. Currently, there are no pathognomonic symptoms, clinical findings, imaging or laboratory characteristics for this condition, and the diagnosis can rarely be made before operation. The modified suspension technique for reanastomosis of the fallopian tube enables safer and more accurate placement of sutures at the anastomotic site. For all of the primary sutures, this technique enables careful inspection of the tissue layers prior to final approximation of the two tubal segments, thereby significantly reducing the possibilities of technical errors, such as posterior wall inclusion. This approach does not require the use of approximating clamps, and is an organized, well-staged approach.

Primary fallopian tube carcinoma (PFTC) is a rare malignancy, but its incidence has been rising during the last decades and varies between 2.9/1,000,000 and 5.7/1,000,000. Isolated torsion of the fallopian tube occurring in pregnancy is very rare. This entity should be considered in the differential diagnosis of acute pelvic pain with cystic adnexal mass associated with a normal ipsilateral ovary. OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this series is to describe the sonographic features of isolated torsion of the fallopian tube.
METHODS: Sonography was performed in 4 women with acute lower abdominal pain.
RESULTS: The uterus and ovaries were normal in the 4 women. The ipsilateral fallopian tube was distended with fluid. A round mass was seen close to the tube. A sonographic whirlpool sign was seen on rocking movement of the probe over the mass. Ipsilateral torsion of the fallopian tube was confirmed at surgery in all of them.

BACKGROUND: Fallopian tube prolapse is an uncommon but reported complication after laparoscopic hysterectomy.
CASE: Fallopian tube prolapse was diagnosed in a patient 6 months after undergoing a total laparoscopic hysterectomy. The presenting symptoms were midline abdominal pain, abdominal distention, and dyspareunia. A laparoscopic approach showed a portion of fallopian tube prolapsed through the vaginal cuff.
