AIM: Ligation of the intersphincteric fistula tract and reinforcement with a bioprosthetic graft are two recently reported procedures that have shown promise in the treatment of anal fistula. BACKGROUND: Despite a variety of surgical procedures for rectovaginal fistulas, surgical therapy remains a considerable challenge. Therefore, it was the aim of this prospective study to evaluate preliminary results of an innovative technique.
