A subcorneal pustular dermatosis and a vesicobullous eruption with the clinical ad histologic features of localized bullous pemphigoid(BP) were observed in a 44-year-old woman with morphea and a recent history of phenytoin sodium-induced toxic epidermal necrolysis. Localized BP is rare and has been previously described in association with other cutaneous disorders. The coexistence of localized BP, morphea, and subcorneal pustulosis suggests that immunologic factors may play a role in all three conditions.

A total of 70 females with threatened abortions induced by hormonal, infectious or unclear factors and 63 second trimester underwent clinical, hormonal and immunological investigations. Development of lentigines in areas of resolving psoriatic plaques is a rare phenomenon that has been reported following various treatment modalities including phototherapy, topical therapies, and biologics. Although the exact mechanism is unknown, evidence suggests that the cause may be multifactorial, with factors such as skin type, sun exposure, inflammation, and immunologic cytokines all playing a potential role. BACKGROUND: Acquired partial lipodystrophy is a rare disorder. An association with systemic lupus erythematosus has been reported. In these cases, an immunologic basis is suggested by the presence of C3 nephritic factor and hypocomplementemia.
OBJECTIVE: The following report presents the case of a woman who developed a rapid loss of facial subcutaneous fat a few months after complete spontaneous resolution of cutaneous lesions of lupus.
CONCLUSION: Absence of C3NeF in this case suggests that other immunological factors may be involved in the pathogenesis.

The skin of 214 institutionalized patients with the Down syndrome was carefully examined. There were 19 cases of alopecia areata and four cases of vitiligo. Since persons with the Down syndrome are predisposed to immunological deficiency in thymus-dependent (T-cell) function, findings from the skin examinations suggest that immunologic factors might contribute to the increased incidence of vitiligo and alopecia areata seen in the Down syndrome. Syringoma was also common and affected female patients twice as frequently as male patients.
