To evaluate the associations of impaction patterns of mandibular third molars (M3Ms) with pathologies caused by them. In this study, 262 patients with 432 impacted M3Ms who referred in Shanghai Xuhui District Center were reviewed. The mandibular second molar impaction is a rare dental anomaly with a very challenging treatment. Although there are some treatment modalities, often the proper option is surgical exposure and orthodontically assisted eruption with a high rate of success depending on the appropriate appliance design, which assures a good control of the tooth movement with minimum side effects. A case report of a severe bilaterally impaction of the mandibular second molar in an adolescent female patient is presented, successfully treated using a miniplate, as skeletal anchorage.

Benign gestational trophoblastic disease generally occurs in women of the reproductive age group and is extremely rare in postmenopausal women. We describe a case of complete hydatidiform mole in a 60-year-old postmenopausal woman who was referred with diagnosis of suspected malignancy/myoma resulting in delay in management. This case highlights the fact that gestational trophoblastic disease can occur in menopausal woman and this should be included in the differential diagnosis of perimenopausal and postmenopausal haemorrhage to prevent delay in diagnosis and treatment.

BACKGROUND: Ectopic molar gestation is a rare event. Its malignant potential is similar to that of an intrauterine molar pregnancy.
OBJECTIVE: To document two cases of tubal molar gestations seen over a 10-year period.
STUDY DESIGN: Case series.
