Integrating multi-omics data and machine learning to identify endocrine disrupting chemicals targeting key ccRCC-related genes.

Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is a highly aggressive and metastatic malignancy that poses a serious threat to patient health. While its development involves both genetic and environmental influences, the interactions between genetic susceptibility and endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) remain poorly understood. In this study, we integrated multi-omics datasets and applied machine learning approaches to identify EDCs and their associated target genes implicated in ccRCC pathogenesis. We analyzed bulk and single-cell RNA sequencing data and evaluated 101 machine learning algorithms

Profiling Somatosensory Impairment after Stroke: Characterizing Common "Fingerprints" of Impairment Using Unsupervised Machine Learning-Based Cluster Analysis of Quantitative Measures of the Upper Limb.

Altered somatosensory function is common among stroke survivors, yet is often poorly characterized. Methods of profiling somatosensation that illustrate the variability in impairment within and across different modalities remain limited. We aimed to characterize post-stroke somatosensation profiles ("fingerprints") of the upper limb using an unsupervised machine learning cluster analysis to capture hidden relationships between measures of touch, proprioception, and haptic object recognition. Raw data were pooled from six studies where multiple quantitative measures of upper limb somatosensatio

Multivoxel pattern analysis of structural MRI in children and adolescents with conduct disorder.

Conduct disorder (CD) is a psychiatric disorder in either childhood or adolescence and is characterized by aggressive and antisocial behavior. Although CD has been shown to be associated with structural abnormalities by structural magnetic resonance imaging (sMRI), the classification ability of these structural abnormalities' spatial patterns remains unclear. The aim of the present study was to characterize these different spatial patterns, which may eventually serve as potential reliable imaging biomarkers in the classification of CD from healthy controls (HCs). High-resolution 3D sMRI was ac

Interpretable Machine Learning for Feature-Based Classification of Platelet Activation in Rotary Blood Pumps.

BACKGROUND: Thrombosis in rotary blood pumps arises from complex flow conditions that remain difficult to translate into reliable and interpretable risk predictions using existing computational models. This limitation reflects an incomplete understanding of how specific flow features contribute to thrombus initiation and growth. This study introduces an feature-based supervised machine learning framework for spatial assessment of activation-based thrombogenic risk based directly on computational fluid dynamics-derived flow features. METHODS: A logistic regression model combined with a structu

Estimation of population affinity from computed tomography-derived pelvic measurements: a comparative study of Indonesian and Japanese population samples.

Population affinity estimation is a core component of forensic anthropology, particularly in cases where DNA, dental records, and fingerprint evidence are unavailable. Although cranial morphology has been extensively investigated, direct comparative studies of pelvic morphology among Asian populations remain scarce. This study quantified pelvic morphometric differences between contemporary Indonesian and Japanese adults and evaluated the feasibility of population affinity classification using measurements derived from computed tomography (CT). CT scans of 185 Indonesian and 236 Japanese adults

Machine learning-assisted plasma PEA proteomics enables differential diagnosis of melancholic depression and bipolar disorder.

Differentiating bipolar disorder (BD) from major depressive disorder (MDD) remains a critical unmet need in psychiatry due to overlapping clinical presentations and the absence of reliable biological markers. In this study, we assessed the capacity of multivariate machine learning models to accurately differentiate BD from MDD with melancholic features using plasma proteomic profiles obtained via Proximity Extension Assay (PEA) technology. A total of 67 participants were included (23 BD, 20 MDD, and 24 HC), and plasma protein expression was assessed using the Olink Target 96 Neurology panel. D
