Quantifying Artificial Intelligence Contribution in Academic Writing: Development of the Transparency and Reporting of Artificial Intelligence Contribution for Evaluating Submissions Instrument.

BACKGROUND: There has been an increase in the availability and use of artificial intelligence (AI) across many professional domains, and there are traces of AI in nearly every manuscript published using modern technology. It is becoming increasingly difficult for peer reviewers, editorial teams, and journal readers to identify the degree to which authors have used AI in the development of their manuscripts. METHODS: Our research group developed an AI scoring rubric to provide authors with an opportunity to self-disclose their use of AI. RESULTS: The Transparency and Reporting of Artificial I

Comparative bibliometric analysis of highly cited monkeypox research in general and specialized infectious disease journals: Dissecting trends, collaborations, and impact.

This study employs bibliometric methods to analyze global publication trends in monkeypox (MPX) research from 2022 to 2024. RESULTS: Most subm

New directions for the Journal of Health Psychology.

This editorial reflects on the current and future directions of the Journal of Health Psychology. As the Co-Editors in Chief, we briefly outline our positionality and the importance of our Editorial Board and other peer reviewers in ensuring the rigour of accepted articles. We comment on the middle-ground that has to be struck when considering the scope of open science given that data sharing has to be tempered by ethical and methodological considerations. We re-visit the aims and scope of the journal and reflect on some of the key aspects of diversity that set the journal apart from others. W

The rise of predatory publishing and journals.

Predatory publishing is a practice where businesses offer illegitimate and unethical publishing where an open access model is generally used with very little or no peer review at all. Predatory journals are an increasing phenomenon in dentistry, as in any healthcare academic publishing. This can mean poor-quality or false research is given false legitimacy and becomes available for dissemination and public consumption. They can be seen as an easy rout
