Orthostatic hypotension (OH) is a common cardiovascular disorder, with or without signs of underlying neurodegenerative disease. AIM: Detect the risk factors, indications and maternal morbidity of haemostatic hysterectomy.
METHODS: A retrospective study of 46 women who had haemostatic hysterectomy between 2005 and 2009.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: The incidence of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) is low. Current treatment for ICC is unsatisfied. This study was to investigate the prognosis of patients with resectable or unresectable ICC.

Affective disorders have been described since ancient Greece. The ICD-10 classification of mania and depression mixes typology with severity. A hierarchical model for depression separating psychotic, melancholic and non-melancholic depression is outlined. Psychometric measurements of mania and depression, including scales for use in clinical practice are presented. The course of affective disorders underlines the severity of the disorders with many recurrent episodes and long duration, especially in the depressive state.

PURPOSE: Endogenous endophthalmitis is a severe and potentially blinding complication caused by haematogenous spreading of microorganisms. We evaluated the causative microorganisms, disposition to and prognosis of the disease.

Clinical and pathogenetic findings on 147 patients with duodenal ulcer (DU) and 29 patients with DU complicated by ulcerogenic bleeding were compared. This allowed to single out significant criteria for prediction of development of bleeding in such patients: male sex freguent seasonal exacerbations, hereditary load, location of the ulcer at the back wall of the duodenal bulb, negative atropine test, HLA-phenotype B35, A2 A3, A2 AX. High acidity and large sixe of DU were hot prognostically independent. The importance of complex approach in solution of prognostic problems is emphasized.

Forty two children with West's syndrome who had been treated in the Clinic of Paediatrics, Higher Medical Institute, Plovdiv in the last 10 years were entered into the present study. Analysis is made of the aetiology of the disease, the results of treatment and development of the children. All children were followed up from 6 months to 10 years.
