The authors examine how women who experienced intrafamilial child sexual abuse (IFCSA) perceive social expectations of society toward forgiveness, how they incorporate IFCSA and reconstruct their life stories in relation to these expectations, and the costs and gains from such reconstructions. This is part of a larger study on the phenomenology of forgiveness for IFCSA among grown women. Twenty Jewish Israeli women who had experienced IFCSA were interviewed in depth. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the efficiency of scanning laser ophthalmoscopy (SLO) on detecting retinal nerve fiber layer defects (RNFLD).
METHODS: 95 eyes with primary open angle glaucoma, 37 ocular hypertension, 83 glaucomatous suspect and 34 normal eyes were investigated by SLO to evaluate the retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL). Recording tapes of 68 eyes were re-investigated by two investigators for estimating the intra- and inter-observer agreement.
RESULTS: The intra- and inter-observer agreement of the presence and types of RNFLD was fairly good (Kappa values were 0.66 - 0.76 and 0.59 - 0.65

The ability to suppress unwanted thoughts was investigated in patients with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD; n = 29), Speech Phobics (n = 25), and nonanxious controls (n = 28). The authors examined the occurrence of theoretically derived patterns of thinking in 74 agoraphobic participants as they drove alone or tolerated an enclosed place. During the increasingly scary tasks in a behavioral test hierarchy, participants responded to a periodic beep by stating aloud what they were thinking at that moment, yielding more than 1,800 tape-recorded statements. Selected characteristics of speech and voice were compared in 10 patients who had undergone supracricoid hemilaryngopharyngectomy (SCHLP) and 20 normal adult laryngeal (NAL) speakers. Tape recordings before and after successful voice therapy from 174 subjects with non-organic voice disorders (functional dysphonia) were analysed by long-time averaged voice spectrograms (LTAS). 56 patients admitted to the surgical clinic for a breast biopsy were interviewed on the day of their admission. The interviewer recorded his impression of the conversation in eight rating scales.
