Nurse-led behavioural support for lifestyle self-management in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus: an integrative review.

BACKGROUND: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) requires sustained self-management across diet, physical activity, body weight, glucose monitoring, and medication-taking behaviours. Although lifestyle recommendations are central to diabetes care, patients often need professional support to translate advice into feasible, culturally acceptable, and safe daily routines. AIM: To synthesize evidence on lifestyle interventions and nurse-led behavioural support for adults with T2DM, and to clarify implications for nursing self-management support and service delivery. METHODS: An integrative review wit

Precision Prevention of Premature Cardiovascular Disease Among African Men: The Triple-Risk Convergence Framework Integrating Psychosocial, Metabolic, and Inherited Cardiovascular Susceptibility.

Premature cardiovascular disease (CVD) among African men is an escalating public health and health systems challenge across sub-Saharan Africa. Rapid urbanisation, psychosocial stress, cardiometabolic transition, and inherited cardiovascular susceptibility converge within contexts characterised by delayed healthcare engagement and fragmented preventive infrastructure. Current prevention strategies remain largely centred on metabolic risk factors and may inadequately capture the multidimensional nature of cardiovascular vulnerability. The objective of this conceptual paper is to develop and pre

De-Escalation in United Kingdom Inpatient Mental Health Care: A Structured Critical Narrative Synthesis of People, Capability and Context.

Aggression and violence remain persistent challenges in inpatient mental health services, with significant implications for patient safety, staff wellbeing, therapeutic relationships and the continued use of restrictive practices. Although de-escalation is widely promoted as a first-line, non-coercive response to distress and behavioural escalation, its implementation remains inconsistent and the evidence base is fragmented across relational, educational, organisational and policy literatures. This paper reports a structured critical narrative synthesis of United Kingdom-relevant empirical, th

Long-Term Effects of School-Based CBT in Low-Risk Children and Adolescents: A Bayesian Meta-Analysis.

BACKGROUND: Depression and anxiety are increasingly common among children and adolescents. While school-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a promising intervention, most research has focused on its effects in high-risk or symptomatic populations. This leaves a critical gap in our understanding of its effectiveness as a universal prevention strategy for the general, low-risk student population. Establishing whether CBT can benefit low-risk students is crucial for developing proactive, school-wide mental health systems aimed at preventing future problems before they emerge. This study a

Summary of best evidence for safe management of vasopressors through peripheral intravenous catheters.

BACKGROUND: Vasopressors are critical for maintaining hemodynamic stability in critically ill patients, traditionally administered via central venous catheters (CVCs). However, CVCs carry risks of complications and insertion delays. Peripheral intravenous catheters (PIVCs) offer a rapid alternative but pose risks of extravasation and phlebitis. This study aimed to evaluate and summarize the evidence for the safe management of vasopressors through peripheral intravenous catheters, providing reference for clinical practice. METHODS: This evidence summary utilized the standard evidence summary r
