Impact of individualized and structured aerobic exercise on clinical outcomes in pediatric congenital heart diseases with post-surgical rehabilitation: a meta-analysis.

BACKGROUND: Children with congenital heart defects (CHD) commonly experience decreased exercise capacity due to structural heart abnormalities, surgical interventions, and parental-and physician-imposed activity restrictions. This reduced activity can lead to physical deconditioning, impaired quality of life, and increased cardiovascular risk later in life. While exercise-based rehabilitation is highly recommended, significant knowledge gaps persist regarding the long-term impact of structured exercise on diverse CHD subtypes, optimal modalities, and standardized protocols for implementation.

Effect of Curcumin Supplementation on Schizophrenia Treatment: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials.

Negative symptoms pose a significant burden in patients with schizophrenia; currently, there are no specific pharmacological therapies available to helping address this problem. Pilot studies suggest a promising role of curcumin as an adjunct to standard treatment for negative symptoms management, but the totality of clinical evidence remains to be comprehensively assessed. We aimed to perform a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to provide a comprehensive summary of the evidence regarding the effects of curcumin on symptoms in patients with schizophreni

A systematic review and meta-analysis of the efficacy of alternatives to antibiotic growth promoters as strategies to reduce Salmonella in meat-type poultry (pre-harvest).

Recent estimates indicate chicken meat products as the prominent contributing sources of foodborne salmonellosis, accounting for 18.6 % of the Salmonella-related illnesses. Salmonella in poultry processing originates at production, with the fecal-oral route being a major route of spread. The efficacy of pre-harvest interventions (probiotics, prebiotics, organic acids, essential oils, bacteriophages, vaccines, and intervention combinations) is highly variable. A systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted to evaluate the relative efficacy of pre-harvest interventions to reduce the Salmon

Gut-Liver-Brain Axis and Alcohol Use Disorder: Treatment Potential of Fecal Microbiota Transplantation.

PURPOSE: Chronic alcohol use is a major cause of liver damage and death. In the United States, multiple factors have led to low utilization of pharmacotherapy for alcohol use disorder (AUD), including lack of provider knowledge and comfort in prescribing medications for AUD. Alcohol consumption has direct effects on the gut microbiota, altering the diversity of bacteria and leading to bacterial overgrowth. Growing evidence suggests that alcohol's effects on the gut microbiome may contribute to increased alcohol consumption and progression of alcohol-associated liver disease (ALD). This article

Realization of a Photoelectrochemical Cascade for the Generation of Methanol: A Liquid Solar Fuel.

Biochemical networks use reaction cascades to selectively reduce CO2 using energy from sunlight, but can similar selectivity be achieved by applying a cascade approach to an engineered system? Here, we report the design and implementation of a two-step photoelectrochemical (PEC) cascade to a liquid solar fuel: reduction of CO2 to CO and subsequent reduction of CO to methanol. The potentials required to perform the reductions were generated using custom-made III-V-based three-terminal tandem (3TT) solar cells. Cobalt phthalocyanine immobilized on multiwalled carbon nanotubes (CoPc/MWCNT) cataly
