The multi-attribute method (MAM) is a liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry based method that is used to directly characterize and monitor many product quality attributes and impurities on biotherapeutics, most commonly at the peptide level. OBJECTIVES: This study reports the prevalence of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in retail meat from Punjab, India.
METHODS: Classical microbiological methods were applied to isolate and identify S. aureus isolates. Isolates also underwent Etest. PCR and sequencing were used to identify and characterise antimicrobial resistance genes. MLST, SCCmec and spa typing were performed.

BACKGROUND: We undertook a microbiologic survey of long-term care facilities to categorize bacteria found in cultures of residents. Culture and sensitivity data were collected on 566 samples from indwelling bladder catheters, percutaneous gastrostomy tubes, nares, stool, wounds, pressure ulcers, and tracheostomies in 25 Nebraska and Iowa facilities. Hepatitis C infection progresses faster in patients with hypogammaglobulinemia, often leading to death from liver failure within 10 yr of exposure. Response to interferon treatment has been poor in these patients. We report the case of a patient with common variable immunodeficiency and hepatitis C in whom a sustained biochemical and viral remission was obtained after treatment with interferon.
