Localized soft tissue ridge augmentation at phase 2 implant surgery: a case report.

A case of congenitally missing maxillary lateral incisors is presented to illustrate a modification of Abrams's roll technique. Buccal releasing incisions are avoided by using an intrasulcular incision on the adjacent teeth. The tissue overlying the cover screw is transferred between the buccal cortical bone and the buccal masticatory mucosa, thus correcting the localized buccal ridge atrophy.

Usefulness of the subepithelial connective tissue pedicled palatal flap in alveolar reconstruction: A report of case series.

The purpose of this case series report was to describe the subepithelial connective tissue pedicled palatal flap technique, its indications, and its efficacy in closure of alveolar ridge reconstruction. The present case series consisted of all 11 consecutive subjects who underwent a ridge augmentation with biomaterials or with bone grafts. Furthermore, in other cases were placed immediate or delayed implants. All cases were closed with a subepithelial connective tissue pedicled palatal flap reconstruction in our private dental clinic between 2014 and 2020. The main advantages of this flap are

Bilamina cortical tenting grafting technique for three-dimensional reconstruction of severely atrophic alveolar ridges in anterior maxillae: A 6-year prospective study.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the efficacy and long-term outcome of the bilaminar cortical tenting grafting technique for reconstruction of vertical and horizontal alveolar ridge defects. MATERIAL AND METHODS: A bone block harvested from the lateral aspect of the mandibular ramus was bisected into two cortical laminae, which were then used to reconstruct the buccal and palatal walls of an alveolar ridge defect. The inter-laminar space was filled with particulate autogenous bone and the whole graft was covered with anorganic bone graft and collagen membrane. After 4-6 months, the width and height of

Applications of a minimally invasive roll flap technique in peri-implant soft-tissue augmentation - A case series.

Deficiency of peri-implant tissue contours is commonly seen due to the process of alveolar ridge resorption after tooth loss. Minor deficiencies can be effectively managed by soft-tissue augmentation procedures to create a more biomimetic tissue contour. The minimally invasive roll technique is a modification of the palatal roll-flap technique and can be carried out at both stages of implant surgery. In this technique, the crestal keratinized tissue is marked and de-epithelialized using a circular partial-thickness incision. The crestal connective tissue is then reflected using a lingual full-

Evaluation of anatomical considerations in the posterior maxillae for sinus augmentation.

The edentulous posterior maxilla is considered a clinical challenge during dental implant treatment for many dental practitioners. This is because its insufficient bone quality, deficient alveolar ridge, spiny ridges, undercuts, and sinus pneumatization are often encountered after tooth loss. To overcome these problems, several approaches have been developed and are currently used, including sinus augmentation and bone augmentation. Today, two main procedures of sinus floor elevation for dental implant placement are in use: a two-stage technique using the lateral window approach, and a one-sta

Immunological Response to Nonresorbable Barrier Membranes Used for Guided Bone Regeneration and Formation of Pseudo Periosteum: a Narrative Review.

Here we review the knowledge on the local biological immunological response (formation of "pseudo periosteum" of the host) to two types of nonresorbable membranes used in the horizontal and vertical alveolar ridge augmentation: the titanium-reinforced polytetrafluoroethylene membrane and the titanium mesh membrane. A literature search was conducted including available in vitro, in vivo, and clinical studies on cellular and molecular immunological response to these two types of nonresorbable membranes, in particular the formation of "pseudo periosteum".

Sub Sinus Ridge Height at First Molar Region- A Panoramic Radiograph Based Study.

BACKGROUND: Among various replacement options available for maxillary molars, implants necessitate the need to examine available ridge height and width. Panoramic radiographs (orthopantomograms) are routinely used for preliminary determination of ridge height which is helpful in communicating with patients regarding treatment needs and options. This study was designed with the aim to assess the sub sinus ridge height at dentulous and edentulous first molar sites. METHODS: A cross-sectional study was conducted from March to November 2019 among patients visiting the dental college. The orthopan

Alveolar Ridge Split Technique With Simultaneous Implant Placement: A Clinical Case Series With One-Year Follow-Up.

Ridge resorption following tooth loss may limit ideal three-dimensional implant placement. The alveolar ridge split technique (ARST) is used for horizontal ridge augmentation and may permit simultaneous implant placement in selected narrow ridges. This case series aimed to assess horizontal bone gain following ARST with simultaneous implant placement and evaluate short-term ridge stability one year after loading. Three systemically healthy patients presenting with maxillary horizontal bone width of less than 6 mm were included. All underwent ARST using piezosurgery and chisels with simultaneou

Microvascular reconstruction and dental rehabilitation of benign severely atrophic jaws and defects of the alveolar ridge: our philosophy in 2019.

We deal regularly with patients who present with severe atrophy of the jaws, compromised soft tissue, or penetrating defects of the alveolar ridge that are not the result of malignant disease. For these patients we use microvascular bony flaps together with dental implants and implant-supported prostheses. The purpose of this retrospective study was to present our current management and the lessons we have learned over a 16-year period while treating 86 patients for these indications with 87 microvascular bone flaps. We used a transoral approach for the anastomosis in 60 flaps, thereby avoidin
