Restoring large posterior vital-teeth cavities remains a clinical challenge. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to compare the clinical performance of short fiber-reinforced composites (SFRCs) versus conventional resin-based composites (RBCs) in such cavities. PubMed, Web of Science, and Scopus were searched, identifying 1,632 records. Five randomized controlled trials met inclusion criteria for qualitative synthesis, and four were included in the meta-analysis. Risk of bias was assessed using Cochrane RoB 2.0, and the certainty of evidence was rated via GRADE. Meta-analysis showed

In recent years, waterborne epoxy resin (WE) has garnered attention due to its lower environmental pollution compared to solvent-based coatings. However, their poor barrier properties severely limit their practical applications. In order to enhance the corrosion resistance of water-based epoxy resin coating, a highly efficient strategy of combining the barrier effect of lamellar structured zirconium phosphate (α-ZrP) and the inhibitor effect of special carbon dots by the intercalation method was proposed in this work. A mixture of l-tyrosine and 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole-5-thiol as carbon sources

Currently, patients place great significance on both the appearance and health benefits of dental treatments. Single-shade resin-based composites (RBC) are commonly used in clinical practice, but various popular caffeinated and healthy drinks can lead to staining. This study aimed to compare the resistance of a newly introduced single-shade RBC with an advanced polymerization system (APS) to turmeric, kombucha, and coffee staining as compared to that of a conventional multi-shade RBC. Sixty specimens (8 × 5 × 2 mm) were created using two types of RBCs: a single-shade (Vittra APS Unique, FGM De

STATEMENT OF PROBLEM: Polyaryletherketones (PAEKs) are high-performance polymer materials in which polyetheretherketone (PEEK) and polyetherketoneketone (PEKK) are the most used. Although mechanical and shear bonding strength tests have been performed on the 2 materials, studies on the influence of processing on bonding are scarce.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this in vitro study was to determine the influence of the surface treatment and the manufacturing process on the shear bond strength of veneering composite resin to PEKK and PEEK.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: Thirty pressed PEKK, 30 milled PEKK, a

Cracked endodontically treated molars (ETMs) are commonly treated with full crowns. Less invasive techniques could include fiber-reinforced composite (FRC) base and adhesively bonded endocrowns. The purpose of this study was to assess the fatigue resistance of ETMs restored with CAD/CAM resin composite endocrowns and reinforced with different FRC bases. Cracks were simulated in fifty mandibular molars by cutting the teeth longitudinally and reassembling the two parts. After performing endodontic treatments and preparing cavities, teeth were restored in one of the following methods (n = 10). In
