The microcirculatory disorders in 85 patients with typhoid fever are described according to biomicroscopy of the bulbar conjunctiva performed at different periods of the disease and depending on the disease gravity. The greatest microcirculatory disorders were detected in patients with severe and medium-severe disease patterns. In those patients, the clinical recovery was not always marked by normalization of the microcirculation.

A cryofibrinogen complex, found in the plasma of cattle acutely infected with Babesia bovis (argentina), was characterized. The fibrinogen-like proteins of the complex were isolated and the structure of their polypeptide chains analysed. In general, the chain structure was similar to that of soluble non-crosslinked fibrin (fibrinogen) although chains indicating some degree of fibrin crosslinking were often detected. Twenty-two cases of acute venous thrombosis in pregnancy (0.64%) were studied. Concomitant pulmonary embolism was documented in 0.23%. Prophylactic heparinization was performed in 32 gravidae. In the acute thrombosis group therapy was instituted in the 26th week, and in the prophylaxis group in the 20th week of pregnancy.
