OBJECTIVE: To present a case of bacterial keratitis caused by Elizabethkingia meningosepticum in an eye after trauma.
METHOD: Case report.
RESULT: A 45-year-old woman was referred to our cornea clinic for keratitis, which had developed following nonpenetrating eye trauma from a tree branch. Cultures from a corneal smear demonstrated heavy growth of E. meningosepticum. We present two cases of Mycobacterium chelonae keratitis, both of which followed minor corneal trauma. One case initially showed improvement with medical therapy alone but eventually required penetrating keratoplasty. The second case required surgical intervention to provide tectonic support, but the infection resolved with antibiotic therapy.

101 patients with epidemic keratoconjunctivitis were treated with different eye drops: cortisone, antibiotics and P.V.P.-Iodine. The treatment of 19 patients with P.V.P.-Iodine showed that inflammatory symptoms disappeared rapidly; corneal complications however such as superficial keratitis could not be prevented. After the outbreak of epidemic keratoconjunctivitis, severe hygienic measures had been taken at the eye-clinic. On account of the hygienic prophylactic measures further infections could be prevented at the clinic almost completely.

The Herpetic Eye Disease Study (HEDS) includes three double-masked, placebo-controlled clinical trials for potentially blinding herpes simplex virus (HSV) eye infections. One study compares a tapering dosage of topical prednisolone or placebo eye drops for HSV stromal keratitis (HEDS-SKN). We present two ICU-hospitalized patients with coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) presenting with endogenous endophthalmitis in one eye and variable manifestations of chorioretinitis in the fellow eye. AIM: Brucellosis may affect the eye to varying degrees. The aim of this study was to investigate the ocular involvement of brucellosis and highlight key points.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: Published literature in English language on the ocular involvement of brucellosis within last 30 years was evaluated. The PubMed international database was screened using certain keywords.
