The presence of helicobacter pylori in the stomach in patients with clinical signs of gastroduodenal disease and its possible relationship with several clinical, endoscopic and anatomopathologic characteristics of the illness were prospectively evaluated in 359 patients. H. pylori was isolated from 388 samples in 216 patients (60% of colonization). In patients with endoscopic and, or, anatomopathologic evidence of gastroduodenal alterations the microorganism was isolated in 67% of the instances whereas it was observed in only 7% of the patients free of such alterations (p less than 0.001). Gastric cancer (GC) is a globally prevalent malignancy with a particularly heavy burden in China. Helicobacter pylori ( H. pylori ) is a Group I carcinogen for GC, with a higher seroprevalence rate indicating a higher GC incidence. However, only approximately 3% of the individuals with H. pylori infection eventually develop GC, and about 2.6% still progress to GC even 10-20 years after the eradication of H. pylori . Thus, the pathogenic mechanism of H. pylori for GC must be elucidated, and high-risk individuals precisely identified. Furthermore, GC can occur even in individuals who have never

Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection affects a substantial proportion of the global population and causes various gastric disorders, including gastric cancer. Recent studies have found an inverse relationship between H. pylori infection and esophageal cancer (EC), suggesting a protective role against EC. This editorial focuses on the possible mechanisms underlying the role of H. pylori infection in EC and explores the role of gut microbiota in esophageal carcinogenesis and the practicality of H. pylori eradication. EC has two major subtypes: Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) and e

Osteoporotic fracture is a prevalent noncommunicable disease globally, causing significant mortality, morbidity, and disability. As the population ages, the healthcare and economic burden of osteoporotic fracture is expected to increase further. Due to its multifactorial features, the development of osteoporotic fracture involves a complex interplay of multiple risk factors, including genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors. Helicobacter pylori, which infects approximately 43% of the world's population, has been associated with increased fracture risk due to hypochlorhydria from atrophic

Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a pathogenic microorganism that colonizes the human gastric mucosa and can lead to various gastric disorders, including gastritis, gastric ulcers, and gastric cancer. However, the increasing prevalence of antibiotic resistance in H. pylori has prompted the search for alternative treatment options. Photodynamic therapy has emerged as a potential alternative therapy, thus offering the advantage of avoiding some of the side effects associated with antibiotics and effectively targeting drug-resistant strains. In the postantibiotic era, photodynamic therapy (PDT)

Infection with Helicobacter pylori is one of the most common infections of mankind. Infection typically occurs in childhood and persists for the lifetime of the host unless eradicated with antimicrobials. The organism colonizes the stomach and causes gastritis. Most infected individuals are asymptomatic, but infection also causes gastric and duodenal ulceration, and gastric cancer. H. pylori possesses an arsenal of virulence factors, including a potent urease enzyme for protection from acid, flagella that mediate motility, an abundance of outer membrane proteins that can mediate attachment, se
