From January 1983 to December 1986 seventy-six previously untreated children with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) were treated by combination chemotherapy. Burkitt's lymphoma patients were ineligible. The treatment regimens include intermittent chemotherapy and for non-localized patients, prophylactic central nervous system chemotherapy. Intrathoracic non-Hodgkin's lymphoma patients also had cranial prophylactic radiotherapy. Sixty-six patients (86.8%) achieved complete remission. Despite continued advances, survival among patients with Hodgkin lymphoma differs by age, race and ethnicity, socioeconomic status, insurance, and treatment location. Inequities are evident across the cancer care continuum, from timely diagnosis and treatment initiation and clinical trial access, to posttreatment survivorship care. As the therapeutic landscape for Hodgkin lymphoma evolves, studies examining the impact of new treatments on disparities are needed to ensure that treatment advances benefit all populations equitably.

Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma (AITL) is a rare form of NHL and usually presents in the late stage due to the atypical laboratory findings. Immunohistochemistry of the lymph node in AITL is characterized by positive CD2, CD3, CD4, CD10, CXCL-13, PD1 often BCL-6 and CD20 positive. Meshworks of follicular dendritic cells are seen outside follicles with CD21 and CD23 stains. EBV can be often positive as well. Autologous transplantation should be offered in the first remission as poor outcome is reported with anthracycline-containing regimens.

PURPOSE: The prognosis of acute- and lymphoma-type adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATL) is poor, but there is marked diversity in survival outcomes. The aim of this study was to develop a prognostic index (PI) for acute- and lymphoma-type ATL (ATL-PI).
