The study reports cytological findings in 63 cases of radio- and/or oestrogen-treated carcinoma of the prostate. The different effects of therapy on the tumor cells in the cytological smear are described and discussed. An evaluation of the results, depending on the type of therapy, showed, that radio-treated tumors, due to the rapid and strong sclerosis of connective tissue, were less suitable for aspiration biopsy than hormone-treated tumors. Solitary fibrous tumours of the pleura (SFTPs) are rare growths that are usually benign, but their behaviour can be unpredictable. We describe the incidental discovery of an SFTP in a 39-year-old man who presented to the Emergency Department after a fall. Although he had no respiratory symptoms, trauma imaging unexpectedly revealed a pleural-based mass in the right upper chest. Further CT scans showed a 5.5 × 3 cm ovoid lesion with mixed enhancement along the right major fissure, and FDG-PET demonstrated low metabolic activity with no signs of spread. OBJECTIVE: To describe the indications, operative technique, and long-term outcomes of patients treated with the Scheker (Aptis) distal radio-ulnar joint (DRUJ) prosthesis.
INDICATIONS: The Scheker prosthesis is intended to replace the DRUJ in patients with rheumatoid, degenerative, or posttraumatic arthritis of the sigmoid notch and/or ulnar head, or in cases of gross instability of the DRUJ. We developed equipment that quickly and uniformly heats packed whole fish in circulating tap water using radio frequency (RF) heating. Four vacuumed plastic-packed Pacific sauries in tap water were set in a radial arrangement between coaxial cylindrical electrodes in a closed vessel.
