A 25-year-old nulliparous woman attended an orthopaedic clinic with a 12-month history of right hip pain and was found to have a hard tender mass in her right groin. Fine-needle aspiration yielded a diagnosis of endometrial glands. The lesion was excised completely and the final diagnosis was round ligament endometriosis. A very unusual case of an apparent primary clear cell adenocarcinoma of the vulva in a 57-year-old female is presented. The carcinoma arose in an area of endometriosis within the canal of Nuck in the superior aspect of the right labium majus. Smooth muscle fibers presumably representing remnants of the extrapelvic round ligament were found associated with the endometriosis. An unusual case of endometriosis involving the right round ligament in a 40-year-old woman is presented. After giving birth to two children, she first noticed a tender mass in the right groin at the age of 36. It didn't change in size but pain appeared at the age of 38, disturbing her daily life. A poorly circumscribed elastic hard mass, measuring 3 cm in diameter, was palpable in her right inguinal region. Magnetic resonance imaging demonstrated a 2x3 cm mass in the right inguinal canal. BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Cancer dissemination on peritoneal surfaces can be treated by cytoreductive surgery and perioperative intraperitoneal chemotherapy. To maximize benefits a complete cancer removal precedes the chemotherapy treatments.

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this presentation is to review the pathologic spectrum of cystic masses that may involve the female groin region, with a correlation of the lesions with their sonographic appearance.
METHODS: We reviewed the sonographic findings of palpable groin masses showing a cystic pattern in female patients. The groin region is best depicted with a high-frequency (7.5- to 12-MHz) linear array transducer.
