Human babesiosis is an important tick-borne infectious disease. We investigated human babesiosis in the Gansu province and found that it is prevalent in this area with a prevalence of 1.3%. Results of gene sequencings indicate that 1.3% of patients were positive for Babesia divergens. This initial report of human B. divergens infections in Gansu Province should raise awareness of human babesiosis.

Six cystic metacestodes were found in the abdominal muscles of a wild rabbit, Lepus sinensis, in China. The coenurus contained one or more scolices armed with hooklets. Mitochondrial cox1 (1,623 bp) confirmed 98% homology with cox1 of Taenia serialis. This is the first report of T. serialis infection in an intermediate host in the Qinghai Tibetan Plateau Area, China.

Climate change threatens carbon sequestration on the Qinghai-Tibet plateau, particularly in the Qilian mountains on its northeastern edge. We combined eddy covariance measurements from five sites at altitudes of 3,000-4,200 m spanning 2011 to 2022 with remote sensing data to evaluate carbon sink dynamics.
