OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the MRI findings differentiating clear cell adenocarcinoma of the urethra (CCAU) from nonadenocarcinoma of the urethra (NACU) and non-clear cell adenocarcinoma of the urethra (NCCAU) in women.

Primary malignancies of the female urethra are rare, accounting for less than 1% of genitourinary malignancies. Clear cell adenocarcinoma of the urethra (CCAU) occurs more infrequently, accounting for 0.003% of malignancies of the female urogenital tract. Definitive clinical diagnosis of CCAU is difficult and must be differentiated from tumors of the vagina. Currently, there is limited understanding of the causes of CCAU and there is no established standard of care for treatment. Immunohistochemistry and pathologic analysis can be used to identify the origin of the tumor.

Aggressive angiomyxoma is a rare benign mesenchymal stromal tumour, characterized by locally infiltrative nature and a tendency for recurrence. Clear cell adenocarcinoma of the urethra is an extremely rare neoplasm mainly described in women. Anterior pelvic exenteration was the treatment performed in most reported cases. It seems to have poorer prognosis than urothelial carcinomas.

OBJECTIVE: To describe a new technique for harvesting the long lingual mucosal graft (LMG) to repair the long-segment urethral strictures.
METHODS: We performed a retrospective observational study of patients from whom LMGs were harvested from the lateral lining of the tongue for the long-segment anterior urethral strictures repair from 2012 to 2014 at the Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital. INTRODUCTION: Various cases of self-inflicted foreign bodies in the male urethra have been reported. Most of them are associated with autoerotic stimulation, psychiatric disorders or intoxication.
CASE PRESENTATION: We report the first case of a patient who put an Allen key completely in his urethra. The patient presented with dysuria, haematuria and penile pain.
CONCLUSION: A self-inflicted urethral foreign body is a rare situation. Endoscopic removal is the recommended first-line treatment and if unsuccessful, open procedures may be necessary.

Urethral duplication is a rare congenital anomaly with variable clinical presentation. A number of theories have been proposed to describe the embryology of the condition; the actual mechanism of the disorder is still unclear. We present a 2-year-old boy with complete urethral duplication and two functional sphincters. Functional and surgical results were satisfying with good continence.

A total of 92 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) were subjected to modified Madigan prostatectomy (MPC) for a much satisfactory effect in open prostatectomy surgery. A polypoid lesion was found near the bladder neck during cystoscopy in a woman with urinary incontinence who had undergone periurethral collagen (Contigen) injections 3 years before. She had previously received radiation therapy in addition to a radical vulvectomy for vaginal cancer. Presentation of one case of congenital epispadial urethral duplication in a 1-year old child. The malformation consisted on one normal urethra and the other one a prepubic epispadial accessory urethra, with the proximal end finishing blind into the anterior side of the bladder. We present a case of tubular adenomatous metaplasia (nephrogenic adenoma) arising within a urethral diverticulum in a woman complaining of a vaginal mass with dyspareunia. This lesion, which uncommonly affects the urethra, may clinically manifest as a gynecologic condition and mimic a low-grade adenocarcinoma on pathologic assessment. Criteria for diagnosis and current concepts of pathogenesis are discussed. Our findings, including an immunocytochemical work-up, support the concept of a reactive metaplastic response rather than nephrogenic differentiation.
