OBJECTIVE: To evaluate if follow-up cystography alters clinical management in patients after treatment of traumatic bladder ruptures.
METHODS: Patients with uncomplicated blunt trauma bladder ruptures between 2000 and 2014 were identified in our institutional trauma registry. We present with a case of bilateral ureteral pseudodiverticulosis associated with a transitional cell tumour in the bladder. From a pathogenic point of view, there is currently a trend to consider reactive hyperplasia of transitional cell epithelium as secondary to chronic inflammatory processes which would form such pseudodiverticula. On account of that association it is advisable to perform follow-up tests on these patients to enable us to reach an early diagnosis of these tumours.

BACKGROUND: Catheter-related bladder discomfort (C.R.B.D.) is a risk factor for emergence agitation and delirium in postoperative phase. It may be resistant to conventional analgesic therapy such as opioids.
