BACKGROUND: The development of a safe and effective iron supplement is important for the treatment of iron-deficient anemia. Therefore, the crude hemeprotein extract (CHPE) from Asian seabass gills was extracted without (CON) and with ultrasound (US)-assisted process, followed by freeze-drying.
