Northern peatlands are an important source for greenhouse gases but their capacity to produce methane remains uncertain under changing climatic conditions. We therefore analyzed a 43-year time series of pore-water chemistry to determine if long-term shifts in precipitation altered the vertical transport of solutes within a large peat basin in northern Minnesota. PURPOSE: To report the safety and the effectiveness of deep sclerectomy (DS) with a new nonabsorbable uveoscleral hema implant (Esnoper-Clip) designed to increase trabecular and uveoscleral outflow and to achieve higher intrascleral blebs.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Twenty-seven eyes of 27 patients with open-angle glaucoma, who underwent DS with an Esnoper-Clip implant, were included in this study. All patients were followed up after 12 months.

The novel bacterium, Rhodococcus sp. PKPD-CL was isolated and identified from the 'Chilika Lake' located at Odisha state of India, which is a largest brackish water habitat in Asia. Rhodococcus sp. PKPD-CL produces extracellular halo tolerant, detergent and organic solvent stable alkaline cholesterol oxidase. It has apparent molecular weight of 60 kDa and was purified 59 fold by using 60% saturated ammonium sulfate fractionation, anion exchange followed by size exclusion chromatographic techniques with 37% recovery. Histopathological lesions caused by plerocercoids of Triaenophorus nodulosus within the liver of perch, Perca fluviatilis, from Lake Trasimeno were studied. Large inflows of nitrogen (N)-rich freshwater to estuaries can lead to expressions of eutrophication including harmful algal blooms of cyanobacteria (CyanoHABs). Lake Pontchartrain is a large, oligohaline estuary that occasionally receives episodic diversions of N-rich Mississippi River water via the Bonnet Carré Spillway to alleviate flood threats to New Orleans, LA.
