Morning glory disc anomaly (MGDA) is a rare developmental malformation of the optic nerve that can complicate the diagnosis and treatment of children. We describe a case of a three-year-old girl who presented with a reduction of vision and an exotropia of the right eye. BACKGROUND: To assess diagnostic efficacy of plasma total homocysteine (tHcy) and C-reactive protein (CRP) levels for ocular ischemic syndrome (OIS).
METHODS: In all, 87 patients with retinal vein occlusion (RVO), 955 patients with a stenosis of internal carotid artery (ICA) <90% and 159 patients with a stenosis of ICA >90% were included between 2003 and 2009. A total of 43 patients with a stenosis ICA >90% were diagnosed as OIS. Fasting tHcy, CRP, lipid profiles, creatinine were measured, and diagnostic values of hyperhomocysteinemia or elevated CRP for OIS were evaluated.

The blood-aqueous humor barrier in adult rhesus monkeys was opened by intracarotid infusion of a 25% mannitol solution. Each monkey had one to four infusions into the same artery, with at least one week between subsequent procedures. The monkeys were observed clinically for 3 to 212 days. A methodology that applies hyperspectral imaging (HSI) on ophthalmoscope images to identify diabetic retinopathy (DR) stage is demonstrated. First, an algorithm for HSI image analysis is applied to the average reflectance spectra of simulated arteries and veins in ophthalmoscope images.
