The incidence of convulsive status epilepticus in children is approximately 20-50/100,000/year, and is an emergency requiring prompt medical intervention. Prolonged seizures lasting over 5 min are unlikely to stop spontaneously, and time-to-treatment influences treatment response. Prolonged seizures should thus be treated as early status epilepticus. Radiation proctitis is a common complication of radiotherapy for pelvic malignancies. In the chronic form it might lead to intractable or massive hemorrhage unresponsive to conventional therapy. PURPOSE: This study was designed to assess the results of a minimally invasive surgical procedure for the correction of complete rectal prolapse in a poor surgical risk group.

Ulnar nerve palsy is a well recognized complication of the general anesthesia. We experienced a case of ulnar nerve palsy after abdominal surgery under general anesthesia in a patient with a history of total elbow arthroplasty and ulnar nerve translocation. It appears that pressure on medial epicondyle caused the palsy and that the position of the ulnar nerve has to be carefully examined before surgery in a patient with a history of total elbow arthroplasty and ulnar nerve translocation.
