Congenital biliary tract anomalies typically present with neonatal cholestasis. In children and adults, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and endoscopic ultrasound are used to evaluate and treat choledochal cysts. Contrarily, endoscopy has traditionally played a minor role in the diagnosis of the cholestatic infant. Ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) has been widely used in clinical practice, more frequently in liver diseases treatment. Studies have shown that UDCA has choleretic and cholecyst-kinetic effects. In this paper we give pathogenetic substantiation of UDCA use in the gall bladder dysfunction, hypotension, and identified in clinical usage of UDCA in hypokinesia of the gallbladder.

The investigation and treatment of disorders of the human biliary tree depend considerably on invasive endoscopic and radiologic procedures. These are associated with a significant risk of complications, some of which can be fatal. This review looks at these complications through the lens of 40 years of publications in the medical literature, and identifies the strengths and weaknesses of their current classification, diagnosis, and treatment.

Condition was studied of the microcirculatory bed in 80 patients with chronic noncalculous cholecystitis and 38 patients with calculous cholecystitis with the aid of biomicroscopy of bulbar conjunctiva and histological examination of removed gallbladders. Changes in microcirculation were characterized by enhancement of arteriole-venous shunting, diminution of the number of the functioning capillaries, appearance of signs of venous congestion, lowering of microvessel reactivity in an acute nitroglycerin test, which fact may suggest their systemic character.

Intestinal malrotation is a rare disorder typically beginning in childhood. In the adult it is an uncommon diagnosis, and it usually begins with bowel obstruction. In a work, the comparative analysis of the state of immunological reactivity in 25 patients with pathology of the liver, gallbladder and bile ducts and in 25 healthy subjects is presented.
