PURPOSE: Fractionated high-dose-rate (fr.HDR) and pulsed-dose-rate (PDR) brachytherapy (BT) regimens, which simulate classical continuous low-dose-rate (LDR) interstitial radiation therapy (IRT) schedules, have been developed for clinical use. Integral membrane proteins (IMP) represent a serologically distinct class of mycobacterial antigens which are potent stimulators of human T cells (Mehrotra et al., Clin Exp Immunol 1995; 102:626). Alkali-labile single-strand breaks (AL-SSBs) arose from 40% of the total adducts immediately after a 30 min alkali-denaturation of DNA.
