A radioimmunoassay (RIA) was developed for the detection of liver-kidney microsomal (LKM) autoantibodies. These were detected in four of 62 patients with HBsAg negative chronic active hepatitis (CAH) and in one patient with mixed connective tissue disease (MCTD).
