OBJECTIVE: To describe a case of suprapubic dermoid cyst that had been mistaken for cutaneous endometriosis.
DESIGN: Case report.
SETTING: Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Seoul National University Hospital, Korea.
PATIENT(S): A 22-year-old woman with a 5-year history of a slowly growing suprapubic mass, which had begun to bleed intermittently 6 months before presentation.
INTERVENTION(S): Complete excision of the suprapubic mass and primary closure of the wound.
MAIN OUTCOME MEASURE(S): The natural course of the suprapubic dermoid cyst and histologic findings.

BACKGROUND: Imprecise definitions of syncope and related conditions appear common in the medical literature. To investigate the scope of the problem we systematically searched for definitions in high-ranking medical journals.
METHODS: Literature review of articles on 'syncope', 'neurocardiogenic syncope', 'neurally mediated syncope', 'orthostatic intolerance', and 'orthostatic hypotension' with these keywords in the title, mainly published in the ten journals with the highest impact in the fields of cardiology, internal medicine, and neurology.

In this prospective cohort of 71 elderly patients undergoing cardiac surgery, each subject was interviewed before and after surgery to detect incident delirium using the Confusion Assessment Method (CAM), the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), the Clock Test, and a health record review. Vitreomacular traction syndrome causes visual loss as a consequence of persistent traction on the fovea from an attached posterior hyaloid. The diagnosis can be challenging because the attachment may be subtle. Cystoid macular edema secondary to cataract extraction is well known and can occur in the absence of any surgical complication. Herein, a patient is described who had vitreomacular traction syndrome diagnosed after uneventful cataract surgery.
