BACKGROUND: Endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) is an increasingly used mediastinal sampling technique. Many centres use conscious sedation in an ambulatory setting to optimise the flow of patients, save costs and shorten recovery time.
