OBJECTIVES: To describe the signalment, ophthalmic examination findings, and follow-up of dogs affected with a previously unreported retroco … l cysts (11/34 dogs, 32.4%), cataracts (6/34 dogs, 17.6%), and primary glaucoma (5/34 dogs, 14.7%). Gonioscopy was available in 16/34 (47.1%) dogs and was normal except in primary glaucoma cases. Follow-up was documented in 13/34 (38.2%) dogs with a mean follow-up of 17 months (range: 5-26 months). INTRODUCTION: Signs and symptoms of pigment dispersion may be confused with those of acute anterior uveitis. This case series is intended to aid the ophthalmologist in the clinical differentiation between these two disorders.
CASE SERIES: The authors present a series of 6 patients with pigment dispersion who were initially diagnosed as having acute anterior uveitis and treated with anti-inflammatory medication, including corticosteroids. The patients were referred for a second opinion due to poor or no response to therapy and were found to have pigment dispersion instead of uveitis.

Developmental glaucoma, which cannot be controlled by conventional techniques, poses a difficult problem. Twenty-three eyes of 18 patients with developmental glaucoma underwent a two-stage implantation of the double template Molteno valve with follow-up between 12 and 84 months. The final pressure with medication was less than 21 mm Hg in 78% of the cases. Fluorescein gonioangiography was performed in 4 eyes of 4 patients with ocular sarcoidosis and in an eye of a patient with presumptive tuberculous anterior uveitis. Small discrete whitish lesions in the ciliary body band near the iris root showed hyperfluorescent shortly after fluorescein injection. These hyperfluorescence dots seemed to be pathognomonic changes in cases with granulomatous uveitis.

We reported a case of bilateral extensive iris pigment epithelial cysts masquerading as pigment dispersion. A-30-year-old male patient presented with a dull pain in both eyes and a decreased visual acuity OD. He underwent a complete ophthalmic examination.
