OBJECTIVE: To report a case series of elite athletes with sacral facet fractures that may be an underrecognized career-ending injury.
SUMMARY OF BACKGROUND DATA: Injury of the posterior elements including spondylolysis and spondylolisthesis are well-known causes of back pain in the young athlete, but there has been only 1 previous case report of a sacral facet fracture.

Described is a case of bilateral epicondylar entrapment following fracture dislocations of elbows in a 13-year-old girl who fell while performing on parallel bars. Close manipulative reduction was unsuccessful. Open reduction and internal fixation yielded excellent results. Ulnar nerves were not transposed anteriorly as has been recommended by some authors. Long-term follow-up in five previous cases has shown no evidence of tardy ulnar nerve palsy. The need for transposing the ulnar nerve is questioned.

The objective of the present study was to elucidate effects of therapeutic and preventive measures on restoration of compromised erectile function in patients with osteochondrosis of the lumbosacral spine segment (LSSS). Injury to the triangular fibrocartilage is recognized with increasing frequency as a major source of pain on the ulnar side of the wrist. Traumatic separation of the well-vascularized medial insertion of the triangular fibrocartilage complex at the fovea of the ulnar styloid is less common than attritional perforation of the central hypovascular articular disc. Thirteen patients with traumatic separation of the triangular fibrocartilage complex from its peripheral origin (eleven with documented single-episode antecedent trauma) had anatomic reconstitution by surgical reattachment to the ulna.

Fixation of acute proximal and distal biceps tendon ruptures can be facilitated by the use of suture anchors. Originally designed for open Bankart procedures, suture anchors provide adequate fixation for soft tissue healing, limit the extent of dissection, reduce the incidence of frozen shoulder and damage to neurovascular structures and allow early postoperative rehabilitation. A retrospective study was made of 270 patients and 284 knees with acute patellar dislocation treated operatively. The mean follow up time was 4.1 years. Medical history revealed 21.1% of cases with previous dislocations and 15.6% of cases with family occurrence of patellar dislocation.
