A retrospective study on burden of human echinococcosis based on Hospital Discharge Records from 2001 to 2009 in Sardinia, Italy.

Cystic Echinococcosis (CE) is an infective zoonosis that represents a worldwide important public health problem. Under-recording of hospital bleeding events in UK primary care: a linked Clinical Practice Research Datalink and Hospital Episode Statistics study.

BACKGROUND: Primary care databases represent a rich source of data for health care research; however, the quality of recording of secondary care events in these databases is uncertain. This study sought to investigate the completeness of recording of hospital admissions for bleeds in primary care records and explore the impact of incomplete recording on estimates of bleeding risk associated with antithrombotic treatment. METHODS: The study population consisted of adults with non-valvular atrial fibrillation who had at least one bleed recorded in either the Clinical Practice Research Datalink

Recorded gestational violence and neonatal outcomes in a cohort of deliveries requiring neonatal hospitalization: a 15-year hospital-based perinatal registry study.

BACKGROUND: Gestational violence is incompletely captured in routine perinatal registries, limiting prevalence estimation and etiologic interpretation. We evaluated associations between registry-recorded gestational violence, maternal characteristics, and neonatal outcomes in a selected hospital-based population. METHODS: This cross-sectional study included 26,519 delivery records from the Perinatal Information System at a tertiary referral hospital in Quito, Ecuador, from January 2009 to June 2024. Eligibility was restricted to deliveries whose newborns required neonatal hospitalization. Ass
