Pyrazolo[1,5-a]quinoxalin-4(5H)-one derivatives as novel opioid receptor modulators have been synthesized via copper-catalyzed oxidative [3 + 2]-annulation of quinoxalin-2(1H)-one and oxime-O-acetates. BACKGROUND: Cutaneous leiomyomas are uncommon benign smooth muscle neoplasms of skin of unknown pathogenesis. We report a sporadic case of multiple cutaneous leiomyomas at the site of a chemical burn.
OBSERVATION: A 47-year-old male presented with multiple grouped red nodules on the right calf painful to cold and to touch. The lesions were located on the site of a chemical wound that had occurred 5 years earlier. Histopathological examination revealed a proliferation of smooth muscle fibres, leading to diagnosis of leiomyoma.

Several N-N-and N-O-containing compounds were analysed for their ability to act as substrates for horseradish peroxidase and peroxidases in Mycobacterium tuberculosis extracts. OBJECTIVE: To establish the diagnostic method of tyrosinemia type 1 and evaluate its value, the succinylacetone levels in the blood of suspected patients with tyrosinemia were tested by tandem mass spectrometry, and the succinylacetone in the urine was tested by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.

Immunosuppressive therapy for aplastic anemia in Japan has changed dramatically over the past few years. BACKGROUND: Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is the most common acquired bleeding disorder. In both children and adults, the primary goal of any therapeutic approach consists of cessation of bleeding and its prevention. Several options are currently available for first-line therapy in Europe, including corticosteroids and intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) infusion, which has a similar efficacy and safety profile in both the pediatric and adult populations.
