Vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) is a negative-strand RNA virus with a non-segmented genome, closely related to rabies virus. Both have characteristic bullet-like shapes. We report the structure of intact, infectious VSV particles determined by cryogenic electron microscopy. Deer keds (Diptera: Hippoboscidae: Lipoptena Nitzsch, 1818 and Neolipoptena Bequaert, 1942) are blood-feeding ectoparasites that primarily attack cervids and occasionally bite humans, while ticks may be found on cervids, but are more generalized in host choice. Nonlimit chemical cleavage at tryptophan residues of protein labeled at the amino terminus afforded a simple procedure for generating specific fragments and for mapping tryptophan positions. A comparison of the matrix (M) and nucleocapsid (N) proteins of four members of the Vesiculovirus group by this procedure suggests considerable conservation of tryptophan number and location in the four serotypes examined.

The aim of this study was to explore the "opiate misuse footprint" made by obstetrics and gynecology physicians in prescribing opioid medications for postpartum pain control that led to opioid misuse and opioid use disorder. OBJECTIVES: To estimate accuracy and reliability of pharmacy-based fixed-location automated blood pressure devices (ABPDs) and to test the hypothesis that an ABPD is less accurate with more variable results than a home blood pressure device (HBPD).
METHODS: Randomized study comparing 99 ABPDs with an Omron Digital HBPD in Indiana pharmacies. Each site was visited by one of five study investigators. OBJECTIVES: To compare timing of tooth emergence among groups of American Indian (AI), Black and White children in the United States at 12 months of age.
METHODS: Data were from two sources - a longitudinal study of a Northern Plains tribal community and a study with sites in Indiana, Iowa and North Carolina. We report a new, nonrandom t(2;16)(p11.2;p11.2) in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Three of 292 patients with childhood ALL studied at Indiana University Medical Center had this translocation.
