We present a 4-month old infant boy accidentally detected to have cardiomegaly on a chest radiograph, and on further investigation discovered to have a giant right atrial aneurysm and a secundum atrial septal defect. Congenital right atrial aneurysm or diverticulum is a rare anomaly, usually presenting with atrial or supraventricular tachycardia. Previously reported patients did not have any associated congenital heart defect. Although asymptomatic our patient needs close follow-up, and surgical resettion of the aneurysm and closure of the atrial septal defect in view of potential complication

PURPOSE: To provide a high-fidelity, animal tissue-based model for the advanced surgical simulation of laparoscopic dismembered pyeloplasty in infants and children.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: A previously described animal tissue model using chicken crop was surgically modified and attached to piglet kidney specimens in order to provide organ model realistically resembling infant and children hydronephrosis for simulation of dismembered laparoscopic pyeloplasty. Dismembered pyeloplasty could then be carried out in a standard pelvi-trainer using a standard instrumentation as in a regular case.

Recent advancement of minimally invasive cardiac surgical procedures have prompted the use of minimal incisions to perform operations on patients with congenital heart defects. In this report, we describe a new technique for closure of a patent ductus arteriosus, using an anterior extrapleural approach. We present our technique and results in five low-weight infants. This approach is safe and effective, shortens hospital stay, and is less invasive than classical approaches.
