The hepatic asialoglycoprotein receptor (ASGP-R) was isolated from various rat tissues or freshly prepared single cell suspensions and tested for the binding to endogenous tissues or specific cell types by indirect immunofluorescence. Fructose-1,6-bisphosphate (FBP) helps preserve heart and other organs under ischemic conditions. Previous studies indicated that it can be taken up by various cell types. Lipophilicity is suggested to modulate the diffusion and the cytotoxic effects of mercury compounds. The objective of this study was to authenticate the ethnobotanical claims of the Nepeta ruderalis Buch.-Ham. (N. ruderalis) extract in the traditional system of medicine.
