Alternaria alternata is a major postharvest pathogen of apples, capable of producing multiple mycotoxins that pose significant health and safety risks. Fusarium graminearum (F. graminearum), responsible for Fusarium head blight in cereals, causes significant yield losses and produces mycotoxins contaminating food and feed. In this study, 36 novel hydrazide-containing L-perillaldehyde derivatives were designed, synthesized, and evaluated for their antifungal activity. In the in vitro antifungal assays, most of the target compounds exhibited remarkable antifungal activity. Notably, compound C4 displayed exceptional antifungal activities against Rhizoctonia solani (EC50 = 0.260 μg/mL), Fusarium graminearum (EC50 = 0.480 μg/mL), Sclerotinia sclerotiorum (EC50 = 0.240 μg/mL), and Valsa mali (EC50 = 0.512 μg/mL), outperforming carbendazim, which showed EC50 values of 0.651, 0.804, 0.520, and 0.898 μg/mL, respectively.

This study was to investigate the effects of different extraction methods on the yield, chemical structure and antitumor activity of polysaccharides from Cordyceps gunnii (C. gunnii) mycelia. Five extraction methods were used to extract crude polysaccharides (CPS), which include room-temperature water extraction (RWE), hot-water extraction (HWE), microwave-assisted extraction (MAE), ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) and cellulase-assisted extraction (CAE). Then Sephadex G-100 was used for purification of CPS. As a result, the antitumor activities of CPS and PPS on S180 cells were evaluated.

A 7-year-old Caucasian female resident of the southern coast of Brazil presented dark spots on the left palm that converged to a unique macule with speckled pattern at about 1 month. The mycological exam and the fungi culture were typical of Hortaea werneckii, the agent of the superficial mycosis Tinea nigra.
