The fate of six human-use drugs was assessed and predicted in mesocosms designed to mimic shallow constructed wetlands during the onset of fall and senescence. Mesocosms were monitored for 28 days after the addition of carbamazepine, clofibric acid, fluoxetine and naproxen (nominal initial concentrations of 5 μg/L each), sulfamethoxazole, and sulfapyridine (nominal initial concentrations of 150 μg/L each), with and without phosphorous (P) addition at 1.6 mg/L. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of organic acids (OAs) in starter broilers and to investigate whether supplemental OAs could alleviate the high stocking density (HSD) stress condition in grower broilers. A total of 408 1-day-old Arbor Acres broilers were assigned into two groups without or with liquid OAs in the starter phase. AIM AND BACKGROUND: Glass ionomer cement (GIC) dentin conditioners are considered a useful step in the restorative process, as they increase the bond strength of GIC to dentin. Delivering antimicrobial agents through the dentin conditioner may minimize the impact on the physical properties of GIC. It is not known whether such antibacterial conditioning agents may affect the bond strength of GIC to dentin.
