This case report discusses a 32-year-old woman with no significant medical history who underwent elective bilateral breast reduction with auto-augmentation and abdominoplasty. Initially, her recovery was smooth, but on the third postoperative day, she exhibited tachycardia, tachypnea, and mild shortness of breath, while other vital signs remained stable. We have read about numerous cases depicting life-threatening fatalities due to the lack of awareness and accessibility to health care facilities. A 23-year-old pregnant woman in a village in India underwent a dilation and curettage procedure for spontaneous abortion by an uncertified medical practitioner. Eventually, she presented to the emergency room with ER and an initial abdominal X-ray was consistent with the finding of free air under the diaphragm/pneumoperitoneum and air-fluid levels. Alpha glucosidase inhibitors have been shown to be associated with pneumatosis intestinalis (PI) in recent reports. We herein report the case of a 73-year old man who received treatment with an alpha glucosidase inhibitor (acarbose) and presented with acute abdomen. A computed tomography scan demonstrated PI in addition to intrahepatic portal air and pneumoperitoneum. We report herein the case of a ruptured liver abscess that resulted in pneumoperitoneum. A patient with diabetes mellitus presented with symptoms of acute abdomen. The plain abdominal radiograph and computed tomography findings revealed abdominal free air and a gas-containing liver abscess, whereby a diagnosis of a ruptured liver abscess was made.
