Psychometric validity of the 22-item sinonasal outcome test in cystic fibrosis.

BACKGROUND: The 22-item sinonasal outcome test (SNOT-22) is widely used to evaluate quality of life (QOL) in cystic fibrosis chronic rhinosinusitis (CF-CRS) but lacks formal validation in people with CF (PwCF). This study explores the psychometric properties of the SNOT-22 following elexacaftor/tezacaftor/ivacaftor (ETI) administration. METHODS: Data from three prospective observational cohort studies investigating the impact of ETI on CF-CRS were pooled across four U.S. centers and used for validity assessments. SNOT-22 scores, Lund-Mackay (LM) computed tomography (CT) sinus scores, and Cyst

"Feeling unseen": Generation and psychometric validation of a scale assessing sense of absence.

BACKGROUND: Online addictive behaviors are common among adolescents and may reflect efforts to cope with inner emptiness, loneliness, or emotional pain. These behaviors suggest a deeper form of emotional disconnection that existing constructs do not fully capture. To address this gap, the present study developed the Sense of Absence Scale (SoAS), a measure designed to assess adolescents' experiences of inner void, relational invisibility, and reduced engagement in daily life. METHOD: Participants included 1,555 non-clinical adolescents aged 14-18 years. Psychometric analyses included Explorat

Psychometric evaluation of the persian version of the EHFScBS-C: a confirmatory factor analysis.

BACKGROUND: Self-care, defined as the naturalistic decision-making process of maintaining physiological stability and responding to symptoms, is essential for effective heart failure (HF) management, and informal caregivers play a crucial role in supporting patients in these activities. While the European Heart Failure Self-Care Behaviour Scale for Caregivers (EHFScBS-C) is a standard measure for this contribution, a validated Persian version is lacking. This study aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Persian version of the EHFScBS-C among Iranian caregivers. METHODS: This cro

Generative Artificial Intelligence Literacy Scale for Nurses: Development and Psychometric Evaluation.

BACKGROUND: Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) can automate time-intensive tasks and support clinical decision-making in care settings. Nurses require appropriate competencies to ensure that integration of GenAI strengthens care quality and patient safety. However, validated literacy assessment tools remain limited. In particular, instruments tailored to nurses' role-specific GenAI competencies, including hallucination detection, risk identification, and ethical accountability, are lacking. These gaps highlight the need for a nurse-specific GenAI literacy scale. OBJECTIVE: This study

Antisemitism as a Chronic Cardiometabolic, Endocrine, and Glutamatergic Stressor Requiring Psychometric Monitoring.

We are seeing an exploding expansion of antisemitic attacks worldwide, raising concerns about their potential impact on biological stress regulation and health. Antisemitism is a historically persistent and structurally embedded form of social exclusion that may contribute to chronic psychosocial stress exposure. Building on research into intergenerational trauma, including neuroendocrine alterations in Holocaust survivors and their descendants, this commentary integrates psychometric, empirical, and conceptual approaches to propose a biologically grounded framework linking antisemitism to end

Self-Oriented Comparison Scale for Appearance (SOCS-A): Development and psychometric evaluation.

Appearance-related social comparison, or comparing one's body to another's body, is a risk factor for negative body image and disordered eating. People also compare their current body to their former appearance (i.e., self-oriented appearance comparison), which could also serve as a potential risk, maintenance, or protective factor for negative body image and disordered eating. Yet, there is no existing multi-item measure of self-oriented comparison directions (upward, downward) applicable across diverse appearance-related changes. Therefore, we developed the Self-Oriented Comparison Scale for
