The paper presents the case of a 61 year-old man on with a rare disease--insulinoma of the pancreas. The tumor was discovered accidentally and it displayed no hormonal symptoms. The abdominal pain that the patient had suffered from was probably caused by the inflammatory tumor localized in the sigmoid as the result of diverticulitis. A case of endometrioid carcinoma arising from endometriosis of the sigmoid colon is reported. The histogenesis of the endometriosis in this patient was thought to be artificial secondary implantation of the endometrial tissue into the invaded wall of the sigmoid colon from the ovarian endometriosis during an operative procedure.

Various sigmoid lesions, seen on barium enema of 39 patients, were investigated with angiography of the inferior mesenteric artery using three series. The first was performed with contrast medium only, the second after use of epinephrine, and the third after a beta-blocking agent (propranolol) combined with epinephrine. Primary signet ring cell carcinoma of the urinary bladder and colon are rare disease entities that are aggressive, difficult to manage, and portend a poor prognosis. We present a case report of a 25-year-old man born with an imperforate anus who developed signet ring cell carcinoma of the pulled-through sigmoid colon that mimicked a primary invasive bladder tumor. Despite radical surgery and adjuvant radiation, the patient died of his disease 7 months after surgery.

Splenic metastasis of colon cancer is uncommon especially when isolated. In fact, they are usually associated to multi visceral location. Malignant melanoma, cancer of breast and lung and ovarian carcinoma are the most common cancer which metastases in spleen. Splenic metastasis of colon cancer is rare and exceptionally isolated. Ten cases of isolated splenic metastasis in colon cancer are reported in literature. We report a new case of intra splenic kystic metastasis revealing an asymptomatic sigmoid cancer in a 63 years old patient.

Neuroendocrine carcinoma of the colon is a rare entity; however, this type of tumor is known for its aggressive progression and poor prognosis. A case of a 56-year-old Japanese male is presented in this report. A huge, child's head-sized tumor was found to have grown extraluminally on the sigmoid colon with multiple liver metastases. We report a rare case of a solitary urethral recurrence of sigmoid colon cancer. The recurrence developed 2 years after a radical resection of sigmoid colon cancer invading the bladder. The involved portion of the urethra was resected and an end-to-end anastomosis was made. The patient has been able to urinate per urethram and has remained free of recurrence for 7 years after the urethral resection.

We have studied both the distribution and incidence of colorectal cancer using The Connecticut Tumor Registry, the oldest tumor registry in the United States. During the time period 1973 to 1985, left-sided colon cancers accounted for 63% of the cancers, right-sided cancers 33%, and cancers with unspecified sites 4%.
